Conference on Electoral integrity

Podgorica, 18th February 2021 – Member of the Senate of the State audit institution of Montenegro, Mr. Nikola Kovacevic, has participated in the Conference organized by the Center for Democratic Transition (CDT) with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and British Embassy.

Member of Senate, Mr. Nikola Kovačević has pointed out that the State audit institution audits consolidated financial statements of the political entities that have parliamentary status, based on the identified audit risk and methodological instructions of perfoming financial audit and regularity audit.

Member of Senate Kovačević has stated that the penalties for violation of the Law on Financing of Political Entities are inappropriate and therefore the political entities choose to violate the law in order to win as many mandates as possible.

The conference has also been attended by Ms. Jelena Perović, Director of the Agency for prevention of corruption, Ms. Danijela Đurović, MP of the Socialist People's Party of Montenegro and Ms. Vanja Ćalović Marković, Executive director of the Network for affirmation of the non-governmental sector (MANS).
