Delegation of the SAI of Montenegro at the Commemoration of the 40 years Lima Declaration

Lima, 5th December 2017 – Delegation of the State audit institution of Montenegro, comprising two members of the Senate, Mr. Nikola N. Kovačević and PhD Branislav Radulović and Secreraty of the Institution, Ms. Mihaela Popović participated at the commemoration of the 40 years of Lima Declaration and 7th International Anticorruption conference, in the period from 5th to 7th December in Lima, Peru.

The host of this ceremony was Mr. Nelson Shack, general auditor of the SAI of the Republic of Peru.


Lima declaration was adopted on October, 1977 at the IX INCOSAI Congress in Lima. This document is a magna carta of the public sector auditing, emphasizing the essence of independence of the supreme audit institutions. Rules of law and democracy are pillars on which the Declaration of Lima is founded.


Mr.Hubert Weber, as one of the fathers of the Lima Declaration, also attended the event as a special guest and made a presentation on the process of elaboration of the Declaration.

During this ceremony, the results of the Report of  Peer Review on SAIs Independence conducted by the Court of Auditors of Austria were presented to the participants. It was also discussed about the relation between the Declaration of Lima and INTOSAI strategic goals.


The event was attended by delegates from 45 INTOSAI members, including 18 EUROSAI members.
