The first Workshop on Parallel Performance Audit Project held in Podgorica

Podgorica, 28th April 2016 – The State audit institution was a host of the first workshop on parallel performance audit from 25-27th April 2016 in Podgorica. The parallel performance audit will be conducted within seven countries of the region on the theme in public procurement area.

The President of Senate of the SAI, PhD Milan Dabović opened two-day workshop. „Taking into mind the successful realization of the first project on parallel performance audit, I am convinced that this next project will accomplish the expectation of the participants. I believe that such a peer review approach is beneficial for all us, because it gives us an opportunity to exchange our knowledge and experience“, said Mr. Dabović.

Apart for the host of the State audit institution of Montenegro, the supreme audit institutions of the region – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (three audit offices), Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Turkey participated at this event. The parallel performance audit is conducted with an expert support of the National audit office of Sweden and European Court of Auditors.

The sector competent for performance audit in the SAI of Montenegro will participate in implementation of this project and conduct the parallel performance audit on given theme.

This event was preceded by an introductory meeting “ Institutional implications of performance audit and institutional set-up” held in the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg.

During this project, a series of workshops will be organized and will follow the audit cycle from the planning phase, conducting and reporting on findings and conclusions given in performed audit.
