State audit institution of Montenegro has become a member of EUROSAI Working group on Environmental auditing (EUROSAI WGEA)

Podgorica, 24th December 2021 – The State audit institution of Montenegro, as a full member of European organization of supreme audit institutions (EUROSAI) has become a member of EUROSAI Working group on Environmental auditing (EUROSAI WGEA).

Recognizing the importance of environmental protection, the United Nations Agenda for sustainable development and National strategy for sustainable development of Montenegro from 2016, the State audit institution has paid special attention to performance audits on sustainable development. In this regard, so far the SAI has conducted a performance audit of "Effectiveness of the implementation of environmental policy in Montenegro - protection from forest fires", "Efficiency of the mechanism of regulation, monitoring and reporting on air quality", as well as a parallel performance audit “Management of the interventions in case of sudden pollution in the Adriatic Sea "with six supreme audit institutions from countries with the coast at the Adriatic Sea, namely the Audit office of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Audit office of the institutions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, State audit office of the Republic of Croatia, Court of Audit of Italy and Supreme state audit institution of Albania.

For the representatives of the State audit institution of Montenegro in the EUROSAI Working group on Environmental auditing, the Senate has appointed a member of Senate, PhD Branislav Radulović and MSc Jadranka Delibašić, state auditor – head of Department for performance audit development.

The objective of the membership of the State audit institution in the EUROSAI Working group on environmental auditing is to encourage and support the professional cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experiences in the area of environmental auditing.

The State audit institution as a full member of the European organization of the supreme audit institutions (EUROSAI) from 2008 is also a member of the EUROSAI Task force on municipal auditing from 2016 and the EUROSAI Working group for IT from April 2018.
