Podgorica, 1st July, 2021 - Representatives of the State audit institution, led by the President of Senate, PhD Milan Dabović and member of Senate, PhD Branislav Radulović, have attended the XXV UN/INTOSAI Symposium, which has been held in video conference format, from 28-30th June.

More than 160 participants from SAI members of INTOSAI and several international institutions have attended this online event.

The Symposium has been opened by Ms. Margit Kraker, INTOSAI General Secretary and Mr. Liu Zhenmin, UN Under-Secretary-General, who have highlighted the importance of cooperation and mutual support of the supreme audit institutions during Covid-19 crisis.

XXV Symposium has been dedicated to the theme - "Working during and after the pandemic: building on the experience of supreme audit institutions (SAIs) for strengthening effective institutions and achieving sustainable societies “. The Symposium has included four sessions relating to the following subtopics: Impact of COVID-19 on SAIs’ organizational capacities, working methods and processes; Experiences and good practices in auditing the COVID-19 responses and recovery plans; Innovative approaches to enhancing the transparency of and accountability for the COVID-19 responses and Resilient accountability systems and institutions in the aftermath of COVID-19.

At the end of the symposium, participants have adopted conclusions and recommendations of the XXV UN / INTOSAI Symposium.

Apart from President of the Senate and member of Senate, the Symposium has been attended by state auditor - head of the sector Mihaela Popović and state auditors Lidija Matović and Milan Popović.
