Meeting with the representatives of the World Bank

Podgorica, 12th December 2018 – Member of Senate, Zoran Jelic with heads of department in sector V, Mrs. Dobrila Glomazic and Mrs. Sonja Raickovic and state auditor, Zeljko Nedovic met with the representative of the World bank for Western Balkan countries, Mrs. Mediha Agar and senior expert for financial management, Mr. Aleksandar Crnomarkovic.

The theme of the meeting was a view of the new Law on public sector accountancy from the perspective of the SAI of Montenegro.

The representatives of the World Bank informed that they were interested mostly in transition to the accrual basis of accounting for public sector, optimization plan of public administration of Montenegro, as well as amendment to the Government decision on capital budget.

The representatives of the SAI informed the participants with the most common irregularities and shortcomings identified during the audit of local self-government units and public enterprises majority owned by the state. During the meeting, it was also emphasized on the importance and challenges in the context of actual reforms especially related to implementation of accrual accounting.


The meeting was organized within the Mission of World Bank related to the Second Fiscal and Financial Sector Resilience Policy based Guarantee (PBG 2).
