The meeting of members of the Senate of the State audit institution with members of the Committee on economy, finance and budget

Podgorica, 29th April 2015 – The meeting between the members of the Senate of the State audit institution and Parliamentary Committee on economy, finance and budget has been held within the framework of the project “Together towards accountability – strengthening the impact of the state audit in Montenegro”, supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade.

Cooperation between the State Audit Institution and Committee on economy, finance and budget of the Parliament of Montenegro represents a cooperation with the high level of understanding as well as an unanimous support of all members of the Committee, when it comes to the initiatives, budget and the work of the institution.

With aim to further develop the cooperation, Strategic development plan of the SAI and Action plan for implementation of strategic goals and activities for period 2014-2017 define adoption of the Memorandum of cooperation with the Committee on economy, finance and budget of the Parliament of Montenegro.

Apart from assessed good cooperation between the SAI and Parliament, there is a need to further improve and develop the cooperation and therefore it is necessary to pay more attention to individual audit reports as well as follow up process of implementation of recommendations given in the audit reports.

It has been concluded that it is necessary to formalize the cooperation between the SAI and Committee, and therefore, it has been decided to work on drafting the Memorandum of cooperation between the SAI and Committee with a support from the representatives of NGO „Institut alternativa“.

On behalf of the SAI, Milan Dabović, President of Senate and members of the Senate, Branislav Radulović, Dragiša Pešić and Nikola Kovačević have attended the meeting.

Committee members who attended the meeting were: Aleksandar Damjanović, Zoran Jelić, Filip Vuković, Almer Kalač, Strahinja Bulajić, Milutin Đukanović and Goran Tuponja.
