Official meeting held between Ambassador Mitja Drobnič, Head of Delegation of EU to Montenegro and President of Senate, PhD Milan Dabović

Podgorica, 13th September 2013 – President of Senate, PhD Milan Dabović has met with Ambassador Mitja Drobnič, Head of Delegation of EU to Montenegro at the premises of the State audit institution.

Ambassador Mitja Drobnič, Head of Delegation of EU to Montenegro has welcomed progress achieved by the State audit institution of Montenegro. By its audit reports, State audit institution realizes its significant impact in the process of the EU accession, in the area of further strengthening of the rule of law in Montenegro and harmonization of national legislature with acquis communautaire.

President of Senate, PhD Milan Dabović has informed Mr. Drobnič on current activities of the State audit institution in the area of amendments to legal framework of the Institution as one of key requirements of the negotiation chapter 32. Financial control. Therefore, special attention has been given to full financial and managerial/administrative autonomy of the Institution.

At the meeting, President of Senate, PhD Milan Dabović and Ambassador Mitja Drobnič have discussed planned activities related to implementation of the strategic goals of the Institution for following period;selection procedure for the fifth member of Senate as well as functional independence of the Audit authority for IPA funds.

Apart from Ambassador Mitja Drobnič, Mrs Donka Prodanova, task manager for internal market of the Delegation of EU to Montenegro, has participated at the meeting.
